The fashion at CPHFW continues to achieve the perfect seamless blend of femininity and masculinity. CPHFW has always had a feeling that everyone is welcome. There are no rival tribes here - quite the opposite. The atmosphere is inviting and inclusive. There’s a definite sense of belonging and togetherness, with a vibe that everyone can share the experience. And wherever you look you find wonderful, relaxed, evergreen outfits that are the embodiment of Scandinavian style.
Copenhagen Fashion Week is the Leader of Sustainability
In 2020 CPHFW imposed a set of 18 Sustainability Requirement for brands to follow in order to feature during Fashion Week, covering strategic direction, design, smart material choices, working conditions, consumer engagement and show production. They include:
01 — More than over half the collection has to be made from certified, preferred, deadstock, upcycled or recycled materials
02 — None of the unsold clothes or samples from previous collections can be destroyed; brands have to have a procedure in place for any leftovers
03 — The collections should be free from fur, wild animal skins and feathers, as well as exotic furs.
04 — No single-use plastic packaging should be used in the show’s production.
05 — Full transparency: The brand’s need to be able to answer 58 specific questions on topics such as whether they follow science-based targets to cut their greenhouse gas emissions and whether their supply chain is deforestation-free.

Our top 5 favorite brands from Copenhagen Fashion Week
01 — HERSKIND
Founded by Birgitte Herskind in 2018, Herskind is a mother-daughter duo, with Birgitte leading the brand and her daughter Andrea contributing creatively. The brand is committed to using only organic and eco-friendly fabrics while following the vision of creating timeless staple pieces. The show served monochromatic looks in a neutral color palette, with minimalistic and tailored outfits that were both flattering and wearable in a everyday wardrobe, presenting a series of feminine pieces that enhance women’s silhouettes. The collection combines masculine and feminine perfectly - utilitarian shapes and delicated sheer fabrics mixed with a soft color palette.

02 — THE GARMENT
Sophia Roe and Charlotte Eskildsen founded The Garment in 2020 with a focus on high quality tailoring and timeless design. The Spring Summer 2025 show, entitled “The Arts Club”, was created under the vision of the Creative Director and Co-founder Charlotte Eskildsen. Eskildsen designed the collection whilst staying at her holiday home in the medieval village of Haute-de-Cagne in the South of France, as well as taking inspiration from the craft of the Thorvaldsens Museum (the first contemporary art museum in Denmark). Some of the pieces clearly reflected a sense of romanticism, with all of the collection’s lace fabrics sourced from French flea markets. These feminine aspects contrasted with menswear style tailoring, using a neutral palette of light blues and greys, cream, pistachio, white and a hint of taupe. The show itself was actually held in the Thorvaldsens Museum and an intimate dinner took place there after the show in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz.

03 — SKALL STUDIO
Julie and Marie Skall founded the brand in 2014. The sisters have always felt a strong connection to the environment: “We vow to establish a harmonious relationship with nature”. Skall Studio has always conveyed an understated sense of style and chic. Loulou de la Falaise, with her eclectic boho aesthetic, was a major inspiration for this year’s SS25 collection, with billowing fabrics taking centre stage.

04 — ROTATE
Rotate was founded by Jeanette Madsen and Thora Valdimars and was the closing show of Fashion Week at the Gardens of the Royal Library. Madsen and Valdimars took their inspiration from the 20’s to create a collection with a wonderful sense of escapism, evident in their choice of delicate fabric, swirling sequin fringed dresses and pastel colors. These details all helped to create an ethereal, free spirited lightness. The founders were also influenced by 50’s style silhouettes - some of the looks included details such as ruffles or puffy sleeves & skirts, as well as pieces like capri trousers and high waisted shorts.

05 — GESTUZ
Sanne Sehested founded Gestuz in 2008 and was inspired by vintage fashion. Sehested’s SS25 collection was strongly influenced by 70’s muses such as Bianca Jagger, Jerry Hall and Jane Birkin. We definitely see the 70s aesthetic here, with a profusion of animal prints, silky dresses and beaded garments.
